6th annual day

Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International school & PU College, Bengaluru celebrated its Pratham Patotsav & 6th Annual Day on 15th January, 2012 in frolicsome atmosphere. The programme started in the morning at 7:00 AM with Abhisheka of God Shree Swaminarayan. The Pratham Patostav i.e. the first anniversary of Installation of Lord shree Swaminarayan at the prayer hall took place. There after a healthy parent- teacher meeting took place discussing the academic and co-scholastic performance of the students. Forgetting the modern busy world the parents with their Children participated and enjoyed the kite festival organized by the school management with gusto for more than two hours. There was a darshan of Annakoot festival which took place in the prayer hall for all the children and parents.
School management had arranged sumptuous lunch, in which the parents were delighted to share with their children. The school management in association with Narayana Hrudhalaya organized a “Blood Donation camp” in which many parents, teachers, saints and even the children donated their blood.
The main event of the day the cultural programme started at the scheduled time at 1:30 Pm. By the arrival of the Chief guest, Premji Bhai Varsani,a renowned businessman, Dar-Us-Salam, Tanzania,President of Swaminarayan temple, Tanzania. The guest of honors along with our holy saint the programme started with an invocation song seeking the blessing of the supreme lord shree swaminarayan by the school choir. The dignitaries of the day with our holy saints inaugurated the 6th Annual Day celebration by lighting the lamp. A student of class VIII, Master SAI SHIVA SRIMANTH PANNEM proposed the welcome speech.
A much awaited cultural programme started with a dance performance for the music “Hum Kal Ka Bharath” by our secondary school children. The uniqueness of the group is that they had performed in the inaugural function of the International Children’s Film Festival which was held recently at Bangalore.
This was followed by a “Musical Yoga” led by an International yoga participant and a winner SAI HEMESH and his group. They displayed various postures & asanas which made the audience amazed . There was an inter-house dance competition held for the juniors where in the Rugveda house put their steps for a devotional song on Ganesha. The Atharva Veda house performed their dance for the music “Elumle Madava “(a Popular deity of Karnataka). For the popular Hindi song “Chale Chalo” students of Yajurveda performed the dance. The Sam veda house captured the audience attention by their dance performance for the Patriotic song “Vande Mathram” Since it was an inter house competition the students performed with great zeal and vigor.
Mr Rajesh Pillai, Principal, presented the Annual Report in which he highlighted the excellent performance and achievements of the school in all fields in past one year. And the report was indeed a marvelous journey of victories and achievements of the school.
The next programme which captured the audience attention was a dance programmme by our tiny tots of our KG classes. The little buds of our School in their colorful costumes delighted the dignitaries and the audience for the song “Mera Jutha Hai Japani” a popular Hindi track.
Class I and II students showcased their talents for the song “Bum Bum Bole” Choreographed by Cultural programme co-coordinator Mr Mahender.

The programme was enriched by the participation of the Thailand Students with their Melodious songs about their Culture. And the school is very proud to have students from various countries studying in its campus.

The highlight of the programme was a splendid drama performance by the Atharva veda Group by the title “The Successor” where in they brought out how the corruption has deep rooted in our society. Mr. Deepu Sebastian, teacher in English, his involvement in direction and acting is worth mentioning.

A student of Check Point, Master Meet P Shah shared his experience as student in Gurukul. While speaking he mentioned the qualities of the teaching faculty the physical facilities available in Gurukul, staying with holy saints, parental care given by the wardens, conducive atmosphere for learning, smart class availability in the campus, SAIP programme and so .
The next programme was the inter-house dance competition for the seniors. Where in Samaveda house gave a splendid performance for the religious song “Mahadeshavera” Yajurveda house made students proud, by stepping to the track “Jeevan Maa Prabhu” the lyrics were based on environment of Gurukul. Master Hitesh J Bansali of class X led the Rugveda dance group for the song “Shamboo Shiva Shamboo” and mesmerized the audience with his electrifying performance. Finally Atharva veda house showcased their dance performance for the popular Kannada song “Saarti”
The last part of the cultural event was a Mythological drama “Baktha Prahalad” by Samaveda house. Where in they gave the message “goodness always triumphs over evil.”
After completion of the cultural programme the Guests were invited to the dais accompanied by the holy saints and the Principal. The winners and outstanding students in the academic studies, sports, and various other competitions were awarded. The Chief guest and guests of honour were felicitated by Shri Krishnacharandasji Swami. The School head boy Master Nootesh Chendra Reddy Proposed vote of thanks. The curtain closed with National Anthem. The audience had nothing but superlatives by way of reaction to the performance of the students. The program of the day was compeered by AS LEVEL students Shrey Mundre, Vinneeth, Rohith and Bhavishya.
