Gurukul astounding the 7th International Film Festival
Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School Bangalore is well known and has taken part in many fabulous events. On the 9th of January 2012, it participated in an international event, The 7th International Children’s film Festival held at Devraj Urs Auditorium Hall, Vasanth Nagar, Bangalore from 2:00pm. The students of SGIS were extremely proud to be one of the three teams which participated in the festival to showcase their performance. “Hum Kal Ka Bharat Hai” a heart moving patriotic performance by the students of Gurukul almost touched everyone present there. Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri D V Sadananda Gowda along with other foreign dignitaries who arrived from many parts of the world including France, USA, Netherlands, Japan and a popular Kannada actor Sudeep, were all overwhelmed by the performance.
Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Bangalore thus focuses on the holistic development of its students along with academics and its unique value system.
The event started off with a dance performance by the students of East West Public School, Bangalore following which was a short clip on the various performances of the previous film festivals, next the anchors invited some esteemed guests and foreign dignitaries among which was a popular Kannada actor, Sudeep who held a public interaction.
The lighting of the lamp took place in which Karnataka’s Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda along with the other dignitaries lighted the lamp. A speech was given by the chairman of the festival. Next came the colorful dance by the students of Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Bangalore on the theme of patriotism which drew sighs from everyone.
A very motivating movie “Sound Of My Foot” was played for the children. It was about a tragedy which occurred to a young athlete. As all good things come to an end, the day was concluded with a great farewell.
