The Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Kalaburagi, celebrated the 78th Independence Day with grandeur and enthusiasm. The event began with the school prayer, followed by the flag hoisting ceremony, which was led by Param Poojya Swamiji, the Chief Guest, along with the school Directors, the honourable Principal, and Co-Ordinators.
The celebration included speeches from distinguished guests such as Dr. Rohinnaksha Shirlaly, Assistant Professor in the Department of Folklore and Tribal Studies at Karnataka Central University, and Mr. Mahesh Chilka, the Airport Director of Kalaburagi Airport. Their words inspired and reminded everyone of the importance of this historic day.
The event commenced with a flawless March past, setting the tone for the day. This was followed by a variety of performances, including dances, songs, and gymnastics, showcasing the talent and dedication of the students. One of the highlights of the day was the presentation of the “G-Star Awards” to the most talented students of the Gurukul, recognising their exceptional achievements.
The Gurukul School Captain and the Leaders of the Houses delivered stirring speeches on the “Importance of Independence Day,” reflecting on the significance of the day and the responsibilities it brings. The Physical Education Department, along with all the students, participated with great enthusiasm, contributing to the success of the celebration.
The event concluded with the National Anthem, followed by a Vote of Thanks delivered by the anchors, marking the end of a memorable and patriotic day.
