Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Vijayawada Branch, celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm and dedication on June 5th. The event aimed to spread awareness about environmental conservation and instill a sense of responsibility among students towards nature. The school organized various eco-friendly activities throughout the day, involving both students and staff. The theme of the celebration aligned with the global call to protect and restore the environment, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious citizens.

One of the main highlights of the celebration was the tree plantation drive conducted within the school premises. Students, teachers, and staff members participated actively by planting a variety of saplings, including fruit-bearing trees and flowering plants. Each participant was educated on the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance and reducing pollution. The school campus was vibrant with activity, as students not only planted the saplings but also took pledges to care for them and contribute to a greener planet.

In addition to the plantation drive, the school also hosted a series of awareness programs including speeches, skits, and poster-making competitions related to environmental issues. These activities encouraged students to express their thoughts creatively and critically about climate change, deforestation, and sustainable living. The Principal and faculty members commended the students for their enthusiasm and urged everyone to adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives. The event concluded on a positive note with a renewed sense of commitment to environmental stewardship among all participants.
