Guru Purnima Celebrations | Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School

Today, on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, which fell on 10th July 2025, we at Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul celebrated this sacred day with deep devotion and heartfelt respect. Guru Purnima is a special day dedicated to honouring our Gurus, who guide us on the path of knowledge, righteousness, and spiritual growth.

The celebration began with a beautiful garland being offered to the Guru Parampara of the Swaminarayan tradition. This sacred gesture symbolised our respect for the unbroken lineage of Gurus, starting from Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan to our present-day spiritual leaders, who continue to show us the right path through their blessings and teachings. The atmosphere was filled with devotion and peace as the garland adorned the holy images of the Guru Parampara, reminding everyone of their constant presence in our lives.

Following this, all the students came forward one by one to offer flowers at the feet of the Guru Parampara. With folded hands and pure hearts, the students paid their respects through this simple act of devotion. A special moment took place when some students performed a sitting pranam — bowing down while sitting — as an expression of their deep respect and love for the Guru Parampara. Seeing this, all the other students also did the same. It looked as if the students were performing a silent dance of devotion, sitting together and offering their pranams in unison.

This heartfelt moment showed the true spirit of Guru Bhakti that lives within the Gurukul. The entire event reminded everyone of the importance of showing gratitude and respect to the Guru Parampara. The celebration strengthened the bond between the students and their Gurus and encouraged everyone to follow the righteous path shown by our Gurus. May we always hold this devotion close to our hearts and live by their teachings.
