Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School celebrated Linguistic Week (Language Week) with great enthusiasm and active participation from students of Classes VI to VIII. The objective of the celebration was to enhance students’ interest in languages, improve communication skills, and nurture creativity.
The week began with the activity “Word of the Day,” where students were introduced to 5–10 new words daily along with their meanings and pronunciation. The words were displayed on the school notice board, and students were encouraged to use them in meaningful sentences to strengthen their vocabulary.
A Storytelling Competition was also organized where students narrated moral stories, folk tales, and personal experiences. Participants presented their stories in English, Hindi, and regional languages, focusing on expression, pronunciation, and confidence.
The school further conducted a Spell Bee Competition, where students participated class-wise. The competition included basic spelling rounds, word meanings, and sentence usage, helping students improve their spelling accuracy and language understanding.
A lively Debate Competition was organized on interesting topics such as “Mobile phones: Useful or harmful for students,” “Online learning vs classroom learning,” and “Books are better than television.” Students expressed their views confidently and demonstrated excellent speaking and reasoning skills.
Another highlight of the celebration was the Poetry Recitation Competition, where students recited famous poems as well as their own compositions. The participants were judged on voice modulation, memorization, and expression.
The Linguistic Week activities created a vibrant learning environment and encouraged students to develop a deeper appreciation for language and literature. The school management appreciated the efforts of the teachers and students for making the event successful.
The celebration concluded with words of encouragement from the school authorities, who motivated students to continue developing their language skills and confidence in communication.
