Divine Raksha Bandhan

Published On: August 9, 2025

At Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Bangalore, the festival of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated with deep devotion and vibrant enthusiasm. Pujya Tirth Swarup Dasji Swamiji, along with Pujya Harivandan Swamiji and Pujya Nityaswarup Swamiji, honored the sacred tradition by personally tying rakhi bands on the wrists of the hostel students, symbolizing a promise of protection, love, and mutual respect. This ritual went beyond a simple cultural practice—it reinforced the strong bonds of brotherhood and unity that form the foundation of the Gurukul community. The students felt a profound sense of belonging and spiritual connection, realizing that they are supported not just by each other but also by the loving guidance of their revered Swamijis.

In a beautifully spiritual moment, Pujya Tirth Swarup Dasji Swamiji extended this tradition by tying the rakhi around the divine murthi of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. This act symbolized the eternal protection and blessings of the divine upon all the students and the entire Gurukul family. It was a powerful reminder that the sacred bond of Raksha Bandhan is not only between siblings but also between devotees and the divine, inspiring love, care, and responsibility in everyday life.

This celebration beautifully merged tradition with spiritual depth, leaving everyone uplifted and inspired to carry forward the values of devotion, unity, and protection in their lives.
