Founders’ Day Celebration – A Tribute to Shastriji Maharaj’s Divine Vision
At Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Bangalore, Founders’ Day was celebrated with deep reverence and devotion in honor of Param Pujya Shastriji Maharaj, the divine founder of the Gurukul tradition. The evening began with a special student assembly filled with prayers, bhajans, and reflections on the timeless values that Shastriji Maharaj established through the Gurukul system.
Shastriji Maharaj (Shri Dharmajivandasji Swami), born on June 18, 1901, in Taravada, Gujarat, lived a life of complete simplicity and renunciation. Leaving behind worldly comforts at a young age, he committed himself entirely to spiritual service and education. With no resources but immense faith in Bhagwan Swaminarayan, he founded Gurukul Rajkot in 1948. Through his tireless efforts and divine inspiration, Gurukul expanded across India and the world, nurturing generations of students with a perfect blend of spiritual wisdom, moral values, and academic excellence.
The celebration served as a powerful reminder to all students of the sacred legacy they are part of, and the responsibility they carry to uphold the ideals of devotion, discipline, and dharma that Shastriji Maharaj gifted to the world.
