At Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Bangalore
A special Shikshapatri Tour was organized for students who successfully memorized all 212 shlokas of the Shikshapatri. As a reward for their dedication and spiritual discipline, 20 students, accompanied by a respected teacher who had also memorized the complete Shikshapatri, embarked on a divine journey across Gujarat.
This spiritually enriching yatra at Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Bangalore offered students an unforgettable opportunity to visit sacred temples, historical landmarks, and several renowned sightseeing destinations. During the journey, students experienced the grandeur of the Statue of Unity and Sardar Sarovar Dam, explored the spiritual exhibits of Sahajanand Universe and the beautifully designed Thematic Garden, enjoyed educational visits to Science City and Sakar Bagh Zoo, and witnessed the natural and historical significance of Girnar and its surrounding fort area. These experiences added cultural, educational, and recreational value to the tour while making the journey even more memorable and inspiring.
Day 1 – Mumbai to Vadodara to Nilkanthdham
Journey Commencement
The tour commenced with the departure of students and accompanying staff from Mumbai to Vadodara, marking the beginning of a highly anticipated spiritual and educational pilgrimage. Filled with excitement and devotion, the students traveled together in a disciplined and enthusiastic manner, preparing themselves mentally and spiritually for the sacred experiences ahead. Upon arrival in Vadodara, the group proceeded towards the divine campus of Nilkanthdham, where they settled in for the night amidst a peaceful spiritual atmosphere.
Day 2 – Nilkanthdham to Kevadiya to Vadtal
Spiritual Start at Nilkanthdham
The morning began with freshening up followed by divine Aarti and Abhishek Darshan at Nilkanthdham, allowing students to begin their day immersed in devotion and prayer.
Educational & Sightseeing Experience
Students then explored the spiritually themed Sahajanand Universe, where inspiring exhibits beautifully portrayed the teachings and history of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. They also enjoyed the serene and artistic Thematic Garden, which offered a peaceful and reflective environment.
Kevadiya Visit
The group then proceeded to Kevadiya, where they witnessed the majestic Statue of Unity, the tallest statue in the world, standing as a symbol of national unity and pride. They also visited the magnificent Sardar Sarovar Dam, appreciating its engineering marvel and scenic surroundings.
Evening Travel
After an enriching day of sightseeing and spiritual learning, the group traveled towards Vidyanagar and concluded the day with dinner and night stay at Gurukul Vidyanagar.
Day 3 – Vadtal to Sarangpur to Gadhpur
Sacred Visit to Vadtal
The day began with Aarti Darshan and Shikshapatri Path at the holy Vadtal Mandir, the sacred place associated with the origin of the Shikshapatri. Students felt immense spiritual pride as they visited the very place connected to the scripture they had memorized.
Blessings & Temple Exploration
The group received blessings from Acharya Maharaj, visited Gomti Ghat, and explored the temple premises while learning about the historical and spiritual significance of Vadtal.
Sarangpur Darshan
Later, the students proceeded to Sarangpur, where they had divine darshan at the revered Hanumanji Temple, spending time in prayer and devotion amidst the spiritually charged environment.
Arrival at Gadhpur
The day concluded with travel to Gadhpur, where the group rested for the night.
Day 4 – Gadhpur to Taravada
Darshan at Gadhpur
Students visited Gadhpur, the sacred residential place of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, where many divine incidents of Swaminarayan history took place. The peaceful atmosphere and historic surroundings gave students a profound spiritual connection to the legacy of Bhagwan Swaminarayan.
Journey to Taravada
After darshan and breakfast, the group departed for Taravada Gurukul.
Taravada Spiritual Heritage
At Taravada, students visited the birthplace of Shastriji Maharaj, learning about his inspiring life, contributions, and legacy. They also toured the Gurukul campus and participated in satsang and educational activities.
Day 5 – Taravada to Junagadh to Somnath
Junagadh Exploration
The group departed early for Junagadh, where students visited the famous Sakar Bagh Zoo, enjoying an educational and recreational wildlife experience.
Somnath Temple Darshan
The journey then continued to the sacred Somnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Students experienced the divine atmosphere of this iconic temple and had the opportunity for peaceful darshan and reflection.
Night Stay
The day concluded with dinner and night stay at Gyanbag Gurukul.
Day 6 – Gyanbag to Rajkot
Girnar and Fort Visit
On the way to Rajkot, students visited the spiritually and historically significant Girnar, along with the nearby historic fort area, appreciating the blend of nature, heritage, and devotion.
Rajkot Headquarters Visit
Upon arrival at Rajkot Gurukul, students toured the prestigious Gurukul Headquarters Campus, gaining insight into its organizational and spiritual importance.
Special Spiritual Assembly
They also attended a special assembly with senior saints, receiving valuable spiritual guidance and blessings, followed by darshan at the Swaminarayan Mandir.
Day 7 – Rajkot to Ahmedabad
Science City Educational Visit
Students visited Science City, where they explored interactive scientific exhibits and educational attractions that blended knowledge with entertainment.
Akshardham Darshan
Later, the group visited the grand Akshardham Temple, Gandhinagar, experiencing its magnificent architecture, spiritual ambiance, and divine darshan.
Night Stay
The day concluded with travel to Shantigram Gurukul, Ahmedabad, for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8 – Ahmedabad to Mumbai
Return Journey
On the final day, the group departed from Ahmedabad for Mumbai by train. During the return journey, students reflected on the unforgettable spiritual experiences, valuable lessons, and joyful memories created throughout the pilgrimage.
Successful Completion
The group safely arrived back in Mumbai, successfully completing a remarkable 3366 KM spiritual journey filled with devotion, discipline, education, and inspiration.
