Makar Sankranti Celebration – Co-curricular Activities @ Gurukul Bangalore

Makar Sankranti was celebrated with great zeal and cultural vibrancy at Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Bangalore for the primary classes. The primary staff transformed the environment by decorating classrooms, creating beautiful rangolis, and adorning the assembly area. A traditional touch was added with Pongal preparations and the distribution of til-gud (sesame and jaggery mix) to students, symbolizing togetherness and sweetness in relationships.

The event began with a ceremonial welcome for the Chief Guests—Principal Sir and Coordinator Sir—invited by the head teacher. Students greeted them warmly and showcased their talents through various performances. Skits, storytelling sessions, and songs brought alive the cultural and spiritual significance of Makar Sankranti. The students also elaborated on the importance of til-gud and the symbolism of the festival in promoting gratitude and renewal.
