Diwali Celebration

Published On: November 2, 2024

Dear Parents, Jay Swaminarayan,

We hope you and your family enjoyed a wonderful Diwali and New Year, filled with joy, peace, and light. It was a memorable time for all of us here at Gurukul, where we celebrated Diwali on the evening of November 1, 2024, in the blessed presence of saints, students, well-wishers, staff, and beloved alumni. This festival is always a time of coming together, sharing blessings, and igniting the light of love and unity within each of us.

The evening began with the warm glow of lamps illuminating our Gurukul campus, creating an ambiance of peace and reverence. As the night set in, everyone gathered to offer their devotion through the traditional lighting of diyas and the singing of kirtans. The heartfelt kirtans, sung by our students, filled the air with divine vibrations, uplifting each soul present and bringing a sense of unity and purpose. This sacred gathering was made even more special by the presence of Swamiji, who blessed us all with words of wisdom and inspiration, guiding us on how to bring the true essence of Diwali into our lives.

Our students and staff worked tirelessly to create a stunning rangoli, a vibrant artwork made with 2,500 diyas and adorned with fresh flowers. This wasn’t just a display of color and beauty but a way of inviting divine energy into our hearts and environment. As each diya was lit, it felt as though we were welcoming God into our hearts, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and love over fear.

The festival of Diwali reminds us of the importance of lighting the lamp within us. This act of illuminating our inner world is a reminder to keep our hearts and minds bright, compassionate, and joyful. Through this celebration, we aim to instill these values in our students, encouraging them to carry the spirit of Diwali throughout the year.

To conclude our celebration, we shared a moment of joy by lighting sparklers and a few firecrackers. The night sky danced with colors, and laughter echoed across the campus as everyone joined in the festivities. This part of the celebration is always a favorite among the students, and their happiness filled us all with warmth.

In addition to celebrating, we also took the opportunity to reflect on the values of Diwali, particularly those of seva (selfless service) and sadhana (spiritual practice). By embracing these ideals, we strive to make each of our students not only bright scholars but also kind, responsible individuals who will light up the world around them.

We are incredibly grateful for the support and love of our parents, well-wishers, and community members, who are a fundamental part of our journey here at Gurukul. Your involvement and encouragement allow us to continue fostering an environment where our students can grow academically, spiritually, and morally.

Thank you for being a part of our Gurukul family and for entrusting us with your children’s education and personal growth. May Swaminarayan Bhagwan bless you and your family abundantly in this new year and bring light, love, and prosperity into your lives. May the spirit of Diwali fill your hearts with peace, guiding us all on the path of dharma and devotion.
