A Divine Celebration of Devotion, Tradition, and Gurukul Heritage
Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul celebrated Sharad Purnima on Monday, 26 October 2026, with devotion, joy, and spiritual enthusiasm. The occasion also marked the Pragatya Din (Birth Anniversary) of Sadguru Aksharmurti Shri Gunatitanand Swamiji, the great saint and eternal Aksharbrahma revered in the Swaminarayan Sampraday.
A Special Day in Gurukul History
Sharad Purnima holds a special place in the history of Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Rajkot Sansthan. It is remembered as the first festival celebrated by Gurudev Shastriji Maharaj after establishing Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul at Rajkot, beginning a cherished tradition of devotion, values, and spiritual learning.
Remembering the Two Divine Raas Leelas
Sharad Purnima recalls two divine Raas Leelas. In Vrindavan, Bhagwan Shri Krishna performed the Maha Raas with 1,008 Gopis, symbolising divine love and devotion. At Panchala, Bhagwan Shri Swaminarayan performed the divine Raas with 500 Paramhansas and devotees, celebrating the eternal bond between Bhagwan and His devotees.
A Joyful Celebration at Gurukul
In the divine presence of Pujya Swamiji, students gathered in the Gurukul temple and enthusiastically participated in the traditional Raas. The celebration concluded with delicious Rava Kesari Prasad, creating beautiful memories of devotion, tradition, and togetherness.
