International Yoga Day Celebrations

Published On: June 21, 2025

Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Vijayawada, celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and devotion. The entire school atmosphere was filled with peace and positivity as students, teachers, and staff gathered early in the morning for this special occasion. The programme was blessed by the divine presence of Pujya Swamijis, who encouraged everyone to follow the path of Yoga for a healthy body, peaceful mind, and spiritual growth. We were also fortunate to have Shri K.V. Rama Krishna Sir, our respected Yoga teacher, with us. With his gentle guidance and expertise, he inspired all students to perform each asana with sincerity and focus.

The celebration began with the chanting of prayers and shlokas, seeking blessings for the success of the event. Pujya Swamijis addressed the gathering and explained that Yoga is not just an exercise but a way of life that connects the body, mind, and soul. Swamijis urged everyone to adopt Yoga daily for achieving health, harmony, and happiness.

The Yoga session started under the guidance of K.V. Rama Krishna Sir. The students of our school, dressed in neat uniforms, performed various asanas such as Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Bhujangasana, Vajrasana, and Padmasana. Each asana was explained carefully by Rama Krishna Sir, who also highlighted the health benefits. The students also practised Pranayama techniques like Anulom Vilom and Bhramari, which helped bring calmness and focus.

A key highlight of the event was the beautiful Yoga formation created by the students, based on the theme “Yoga for Harmony and Peace”. This formation symbolised unity and teamwork and was appreciated by all present. The discipline, coordination, and dedication of the students reflected the values of Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Vijayawada.

Finally, Pujya Swamijis blessed all students and staff and encouraged everyone to continue practising Yoga daily. The event ended with the Shanti Mantra, spreading the message of peace and harmony. The celebration inspired all of us to make Yoga a regular part of our lives and reminded us that Yoga is a lifelong journey towards self-realisation and well-being.
