On August 9th, 2025, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul, Vijayawada, joyfully celebrated Raksha Bandhan for the day scholars, marking a memorable occasion of love, respect, and spiritual bonding. The celebration commenced with a divine and auspicious beginning as Krushnamurti Dasji Swamiji tied the first rakhi to the sacred murti of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, symbolizing devotion, surrender, and the eternal protection of the Lord. This ceremonial gesture set the tone for the rest of the program, reminding everyone present of the true essence of Raksha Bandhan — not just the bond between brothers and sisters, but also the spiritual bond between devotees and God. Following this, Krushnamurti Dasji Swamiji, along with Rushi Charan Swamiji, extended this tradition by tying rakhis to all the day scholars and staff members, spreading blessings and reinforcing the values of unity, care, and mutual respect within the Gurukul family.
The atmosphere was filled with joy and reverence as students and staff participated in the event with enthusiasm, cherishing the moment of being tied with a rakhi by revered saints. Each rakhi symbolized not only protection but also a promise of moral guidance and the nurturing of good virtues. The program reflected the Gurukul’s commitment to preserving cultural traditions while instilling spiritual values in the younger generation. Laughter, smiles, and heartfelt exchanges filled the day, making it a cherished memory for all. By the conclusion of the celebration, everyone carried in their hearts a sense of togetherness and the inspiration to live by the principles of service, respect, and faith. The Raksha Bandhan celebration at Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul, Vijayawada, was not just a festival, but a beautiful reminder of the protective and guiding relationship between God, saints, and devotees, leaving an everlasting impression on all who attended.
