The Janmashtami celebration at Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Hyderabad, on 27th August was a joyous and spiritually enriching event that brought together students, staff, and devotees to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna. The entire campus resonated with devotion and excitement, as cultural performances and rituals vividly portrayed the divine leelas of Krishna Bhagwan.

The event commenced with soul-stirring bhajans and kirtans performed by the students, creating a peaceful and devotional atmosphere. At the center of the celebration was a beautifully decorated idol of Lord Krishna, surrounded by vibrant decorations that added to the festive ambiance, reflecting the devotion and effort of the participants.

A series of mesmerizing performances followed, depicting key episodes from Krishna’s life, such as his enduring friendship with Sudama and the dramatic defeat of Kans. The Dahi Handi event was a key highlight, with students eagerly participating in the traditional pot-breaking, symbolizing Krishna’s playful and mischievous nature. The entire gathering also joined in for Raas, creating a sense of togetherness and devotion as everyone danced in celebration.

Pujya Shukvallabhdasji Swamiji offered insights into the deeper meaning of Janmashtami, emphasizing its message of good triumphing over evil, the importance of living a righteous life, and fostering love and devotion towards the divine.
