On 27th August 2024, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Belagola, near Mysore, celebrated Shree Krishna Janmashtami with great devotion and enthusiasm. The event was filled with activities that beautifully captured the essence of Lord Krishna’s life and teachings.
The main attraction was the Fancy Dress Competition, where our young students dressed up as little Krishna, delighting everyone with their vibrant costumes and playful imitations of Krishna’s divine leelas. The children’s performances were met with cheers and admiration, creating a joyful and festive atmosphere.
Another highlight of the celebration was the Pot Making Activity, where students crafted and decorated clay pots, symbolizing the traditional matki associated with Lord Krishna. This activity allowed the students to express their creativity while connecting with the cultural significance of the festival.
The celebration concluded with a special assembly where students recited shlokas and sang devotional songs in praise of Lord Krishna. The entire event was a wonderful blend of fun, creativity, and spirituality, leaving everyone with cherished memories and a deeper understanding of the festival’s importance.
