On 4th December 2024, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Belagola, near Mysuru, hosted an enlightening special counseling session for students aspiring to quit non-vegetarian habits. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Pujya Tirthswaroop Dasji Swamiji, who shared profound insights on adopting a vegetarian lifestyle as a step towards spiritual growth, ethical living, and better health.
The session witnessed the active participation of 35+ students who demonstrated a keen interest in embracing a plant-based diet. Swamiji emphasized the importance of ahimsa (non-violence) and its connection to self-discipline, inner peace, and environmental sustainability. With captivating examples and anecdotes from scriptures, he inspired students to view vegetarianism as a dietary preference and a holistic way of life rooted in compassion and harmony with nature.
Students were also encouraged to ask questions, and Swamiji patiently addressed their concerns, offering practical tips for overcoming cravings and social challenges while transitioning to vegetarianism. The session concluded with a collective prayer and a pledge from the attendees to consciously strive toward a vegetarian lifestyle.
