| MY EXPERIENCE @IMD’s 150th
FOUNDATION DAY
| DAY 1: TRAINING SESSIONS AND VISIT TO IMD’S HEADQUARTERS
It was my pleasure to attend training sessions conducted by IMD in the presence of many known scientists and meteorologists including Dr. M. Mohapatra ( DGM of IMD and 3rd Vice President of World Meteorological Organisation). This event started with the state level prize distribution of National Meteorological Olympiad.
• TRAINING SESSIONS AND VISIT TO IMD’S FACILITIES :
The training sessions included a workshop conducted by IMD. This was followed by the visit to IMDs headquarters. We were taken to different departments of IMD, this started from a visit to Surface Observatory and we were trained that how IMD collect different datas on weather and share it with different nations. After this we were taken to Regional Specialized Meteorological Centre for Tropical Cyclones as well as the Radar Monitoring centre. In the conclusion of this Training workshop we were taken to Satellite data receiving centre and trained that how IMD utilises the data received from the Satellites ( INSAT – SERIES ). A special training through VR was also given to us.

| DAY 2: IMD’s 150th FOUNDATION DAY CELEBRATION @ BHARAT MANDAPAM
I was invited to join IMD’s 150th Foundation Day celebration @ Bharat Mandapam. This event was graced by the Prime Minister of India , Shri Narendra Modi in the august presence of Dr. Jitendra Singh , Prof. Celeste Saulo, (Secretary General of WMO) and many foreign delegates. This event included many programs like the launch of Rs. 150 coin dedicated to IMD, launch of a Postal Stamp and a virtual book. This was followed by the Exhibition arranged by NDRF and Indian Navy for the delegates present over there.
PM Modi addressed all the students sitting over there as Young Scientists and said that we were part of the visionary plan of PM Modi for the year 2047.
