Spread Greenery Movement at Karighatta

Published On: June 5, 2025

On June 5, 2025, coinciding with World Environment Day, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Belagola, organized a sapling plantation drive at the Karighatta forest area under the ‘Spread Greenery Movement.’ Approximately 55 students from grades 7 to 9 participated with great enthusiasm, contributing to environmental conservation efforts.

The students, guided by their teachers, planted around 25 saplings in the designated forest area. Each sapling was carefully placed to ensure healthy growth, symbolizing the students’ commitment to fostering a greener planet. The initiative aimed to combat deforestation and promote biodiversity in the region.

The event began with a brief awareness session on the importance of trees in mitigating climate change and preserving ecosystems. The students also took a collective pledge to protect and nurture plants, reinforcing their role as environmental stewards. The plantation drive not only beautified the Karighatta forest area but also inspired the young participants to advocate for sustainable practices.

This initiative, part of the Brahmavidya Welfare Movement, highlighted the power of collective action in creating a positive environmental impact, leaving a lasting legacy of greenery.
