124th Founders’ Day Celebration – A Tribute to Shastriji Maharaj’s Divine Vision
Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Suryapet

The 124th Founders’ Day was celebrated at Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Suryapet with deep devotion and heartfelt reverence in honor of Param Pujya Shastriji Maharaj (Shri Dharmajivandasji Swami), the divine visionary and founder of the modern Gurukul tradition.

The day began with a spiritually charged assembly that included 10 minutes of Dhun, 12 Dandavats, and 216 Mantrajap, setting a deeply devotional tone for the celebration. Reflections were shared on the timeless values that Shastriji Maharaj instilled through the Gurukul system—spiritual wisdom, moral integrity, and disciplined living.

Shastriji Maharaj, born on June 18, 1901, in Taravada, Gujarat, led a life of complete simplicity, renunciation, and unwavering faith in Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan. At a young age, he gave up worldly comforts and dedicated himself to spiritual service and education. In 1948, with no material resources but immense spiritual conviction, he founded Gurukul Rajkot. From that humble beginning, Gurukul blossomed across India and beyond, shaping generations of students into well-rounded individuals grounded in dharma and excellence.

This celebration served as a powerful reminder to every student and staff member of the sacred legacy they are part of—and the responsibility to carry forward the ideals of devotion, discipline, and selfless service that Shastriji Maharaj envisioned. His divine mission continues to guide the Gurukul family in nurturing character, faith, and knowledge in every student.
