Makar Sankranti Celebration at Primary School
The Primary School campus glowed like a little sun as children gathered to celebrate Makar Sankranti, a festival that arrives carrying warm breezes, bright colours, and a sense of new beginnings. The morning began with a cheerful assembly where teachers shared the meaning of the festival, describing how Sankranti marks the turning of seasons and the promise of longer, brighter days.
Students arrived dressed in traditional outfits that sparkled with festive charm, filling the school grounds with a gentle swirl of colour. The younger children crafted tiny paper kites, their laughter rising like fluttering wings. Older students participated in drawing activities, creating vibrant rangolis inspired by the sun, harvest, and sky.
The highlight of the day came when teachers guided the children to the open playground, where kites of every shade soared upward. Even the littlest students held their strings with pride, watching their kites dance in the soft breeze.
Sweet treats like til-gud ladoos and chikki were shared, reminding everyone of the festival’s message: stay sweet and united. The celebration ended with a joyful prayer for prosperity, learning, and a year filled with light.
Makar Sankranti at Primary School became a day of bonding, culture, and sky-high smiles. 🪁
