Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School has been awarded with Environment & Energy Conservation Awards for the year 2018-19 by Wonderla Holidays Ltd in a crowded spectacular event at Wonderla Park in Hyderabad on 22 Feb ’19.
The Chief Guest of the day was Miss Femina India 2018 Ms Anukreethy Vas and Guest of Honour was Padam Shri awardee Daripalli Ramaiah, popularly known as ‘Chettla Ramaiah’. “This honour does not belong to any one individual but for the great Indian tradition which has taught us the values of co-existence with nature since centuries.”
The entire print & TV media also witnessed the event. The awards focus on the best school-led initiatives in the following categories: green travel to school and road safety, vast green area, energy conservation, nature conservation, recycling, and health and wellbeing.
Out of over 36 schools who participated from in & around Hyderabad, Swaminarayan Gurukul ranked third in the order. The School Principal received a cash prize of INR 15,000 plus a Certificate and a trophy on behalf of the institution, staff and all the students.
Every school also got a sapling to be planted in the school campus as a token of visit to this grand event. As part of the Go Green Initiative, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Hyderabad receives School Champion award since 2014 awarded by Schneider Electric India Ltd. In our pan India presence, we achieve these milestones through:

Our Go Green club is actively working towards these initiatives with the help of dedicated staff & other stakeholders. Our intention is to gradually develop as a Zero Energy School.
These accolades recognize Gurukul’s initiatives for our efforts towards eco-friendly environment. The educational systems have to be utilized extensively for integrating the concept of sustainability into the social systems.
We have to be conscious of the need to conserve our resources through their utilization in a truly sustainable manner. Efficient use of resources has to begin from our homes.
