Day 1 – Grand Inauguration Ceremony

IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu Hails Gurukul’s Crucial Role in Telangana’s Development

November 19, 2025 — The Gurukul Olympics 2025 (#GO2025), Hyderabad’s largest inter-school sports championship, was successfully organized by Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Moinabad, and commenced today with a majestic opening ceremony at the Gurukul campus.

The inauguration was graced by a distinguished panel of guests, including Shri Duddila Sridhar Babu, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Patnam Mahender Reddy, Government Chief Whip of the Telangana Legislative Council, P. Malla Reddy, General Secretary of the Telangana Olympic Association, Shri Dr. Samudrala Venugopal Chary, Senior Politician and former Union Minister, Shri Kale Yadaiah, Member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Chevella, and Dr. Radha Krishna Rao (MBBS, DNB – Orthopaedics) of Renova Neelima Hospitals. The event was led by Param Poojya Shukvallabhdasji Swami, Organizer of Gurukul Hyderabad.


Ceremonial Grandeur and Dedication

The ceremony saw the official inauguration of the GO2025 events by the dignitaries. The program started with the traditional Poojan of Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan, followed by the stirring Gurukul Olympic Flag Hoisting and the formal March Past by students from all participating schools. The atmosphere was electrifying as the Olympic Torch Lighting segment concluded, paving the way for the cultural displays. The subsequent Sports Dance and the truly amazing and astonishing grand inauguration dance titled, “Welcome to the Festival of Sports,” captivated the audience.

The dignitaries, including Shri Duddila Sridhar Babu and all the esteemed guests, expressed their profound surprise and admiration upon witnessing the exceptional dedication, service (seva), and sanskar (values) displayed by the Gurukul students throughout the proceedings.


Minister’s High Praise for Gurukul’s Impact

In his keynote address, Minister D. Sridhar Babu extended his congratulations, noting, “I am also a cricket player, and Gurukul is organizing such a big state-level sports championship, which is awesome.”

He spoke of the event’s incredible magnitude: “153 schools are participating, and 14,153 students are participating, which is unbelievable.”

Sharing a personal connection, the Minister stated, “My cousin son has studied from this Gurukul, and it was my eye-witness account of how Gurukul has transformed his life.”

Minister Sridhar Babu further emphasized the institution’s crucial role in the state’s development, stating that Gurukul is “preparing good citizens by giving sanskar and traditional education, which is really great.” He pointed out the wide reach of the institution in Telangana, with five Gurukul branches and 12,000 students currently enrolled, affirming that Swaminarayan Gurukul is “making a very big impact in the development of Telangana State.” For this monumental effort, he offered special thanks to Mahant Swami Sadguru Shri Devprasaddaji Swamiji and all other saints.

The first day of the Gurukul Olympics 2025 successfully concluded with great joy and festivity, promising several days of intense and spirited competition ahead.


Day 2 – Power-Packed Sports Events

Day 2 witnessed a full schedule of sports across indoor and outdoor arenas. Students participated enthusiastically in Cricket, Chess, Basketball, Carrom, Taekwondo, Kabaddi, Tug of War, Football, Badminton, Long Jump, High Jump, and many more competitions.
Each event reflected strong teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship. Coaches and volunteers ensured smooth organization and fair play. The energy of the cheering teams and the dedication of participants made Day 2 vibrant and memorable.


Day 3 – Intense Competitions & Relay Events

Day 3 continued the excitement with more high-energy competitions. Students participated in Cricket, Chess, Basketball, Carrom, Taekwondo, Kabaddi, Tug of War, Football, Badminton, and various athletic events.
Special relay events like Zig-Zag Relay and Ball Relay added an extra level of thrill, showcasing perfect coordination and teamwork. Every arena echoed with enthusiasm, discipline, and competitive spirit as students pushed their limits with focus and dedication.


Day 4 – Gratitude & Acknowledgement

Day 4 was dedicated to expressing gratitude to all participating schools. Gurukul extended heartfelt thanks for their discipline, cooperation, and enthusiastic involvement throughout the tournament.
Students demonstrated exceptional talent, teamwork, and sportsman spirit across all events. Teachers, coaches, and coordinators played a vital role in ensuring smooth execution. The positive atmosphere fostered unity, learning, and meaningful sportsmanship among all schools.


Closing Ceremony – Grand Finale & Prize Distribution

The Gurukul Olympics 2025 concluded with a glorious Final Prize Distribution Ceremony. The event was graced by Sri A.P. Jithender, President of the Telangana Olympics Association, whose inspiring words motivated all young athletes.
The closing ceremony celebrated the achievements of winners and acknowledged the commitment of all participants, volunteers, teachers, and coordinators.
The Gurukul Olympics 2025 ended on a high note, honoring the values of discipline, teamwork, dedication, and sanskar, which form the foundation of Gurukul’s vision for holistic education.
