The serene campus of Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Mysore, became a vibrant hub of spiritual awakening and joyful learning with the commencement of the Bal Sanskar Shibir on April 7, 2025. Over two memorable days, children immersed themselves in a rich blend of cultural values, spiritual wisdom, creative expression, and playful activities under the divine guidance of Pujya Tirth Swaroop Das Swamiji, Pujya Harivandan Das Swamiji, and Pujya Parama Chaitanya Das Swamiji.
The first day began with a grand Inauguration Ceremony at 9:30 AM, setting a spiritual tone for the entire shibir. The initial session, “How to Use Media Effectively?”, was conducted by Pujya Tirth Swaroop Das Swamiji, offering children practical wisdom on balancing media usage with discipline and purpose.
Next came a highly interactive workshop on Public Speaking, led by Sathish Sir and his team. The session empowered students to overcome stage fear and speak confidently—an essential life skill for their personal and academic journeys.
After a nourishing Lunch Break, students channeled their energy into Cricket and Football, reinforcing teamwork, physical fitness, and fun. Following a short break, students assembled for a peaceful Shloka Recitation session, immersing themselves in Sanskrit verses that carry deep spiritual significance.
A Watermelon Fest brought sweet smiles and healthy joy to everyone, wrapping up the day with a refreshing treat. The day concluded with happy hearts and the Departure at 3:30 PM, leaving students eagerly awaiting Day 2.
Day 2 was centered around love, gratitude, creativity, and Indian culture. The day began with a touching discourse by Pujya Tirth Swaroop Das Swamiji, focusing on the sacred shloka “Matru Devo Bhava, Pitru Devo Bhava.” Through powerful storytelling and real-life examples, Swamiji inspired children to honor, respect, and express love for their parents.
The atmosphere became emotionally charged yet beautifully uplifting, as students reflected on their families with renewed appreciation.
Following a short break, it was time for hands-on creative activities. Students expressed their love for their parents through greeting cards, drawings, and paintings, revolving around themes of family, gratitude, and Indian traditions. The entire room came alive with colors and emotions.
In the afternoon, students participated in Desi Games, reviving the joy of traditional Indian play. These games not only energized the children but also cultivated a spirit of teamwork, sportsmanship, and cultural pride.
One of the most touching segments was the Emotional Expression Activity, where students conveyed heartfelt messages of love and gratitude to their parents. It was a soul-stirring experience that reinforced humility, family bonding, and sanskar (values).
The day ended on a sweet note with fresh mango juice, leaving the students both physically refreshed and spiritually enriched.
