Celebrating National Sports Day with August Amage Sports Event

On 29th August 2025, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Belagola, Near Mysore proudly hosted the much-awaited August Amage – National Sports Day Sports Event, a grand celebration of fitness, teamwork, and youthful energy. The event was organized to honor the spirit of sportsmanship while commemorating the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary hockey player of India.

The day’s competitions included thrilling matches in Basketball and Football, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from a total of 24 teams representing the four houses — Rugveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda, and Atharvaveda. Each team displayed remarkable coordination, dedication, and resilience, making every match a treat for the audience. The event created an electrifying atmosphere as students cheered for their houses and supported their peers with great enthusiasm.

One of the highlights of the day was the outstanding performance by student athletes who pushed their limits and showcased exceptional talent, leaving behind memorable moments for all. Their perseverance and discipline stood as an inspiration to their fellow Gurukulites, reminding everyone that true sportsmanship lies not only in winning but also in the passion and effort invested.

The August Amage event at Gurukul Mysore went beyond being just a sports competition.
