Crafting Light and Tradition Diya & Akashabutti Making Activity

On 30-10-2024 Students from Grades 1 to 4 at Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School took part in a delightful Diya and Akashabutti-making activity in celebration of the upcoming Deepavali festival. This hands-on event allowed students to express their creativity and gain a deeper understanding of cultural traditions by crafting colorful diyas and intricate akashabuttis, which symbolize the spreading of light and positivity during the festive season.

Teachers guided students through the process, helping them mold and decorate their diyas with vibrant colors, beads, and eco-friendly materials. Similarly, the akashabutti creations were a reflection of each child’s artistic touch and respect for traditional customs. The activity not only brightened the school atmosphere but also taught the children the importance of cultural heritage and the joy of handmade creations.

The event concluded with a display of their beautiful works, filling everyone with festive excitement and pride in their creative accomplishments.
