Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School Mysore celebrated the sacred occasion of Guru Poornima on 29 July 2026 with deep devotion, gratitude, and reverence. The spiritually uplifting programme focused on the theme “Respect Guru” and highlighted the invaluable role of the Guru in guiding individuals from darkness towards knowledge, wisdom, righteousness, and spiritual enlightenment.
The celebration was graciously led by Param Pujya Harivandandasji Swamiji, Pujya TirthSwaroopdasji Swamiji, and Principal Shriharsha Joshi. Through their inspiring presence and guidance, students and staff reflected on the importance of respecting, serving, and following the teachings of the Guru. The programme encouraged everyone to recognize the Guru as a source of knowledge, moral strength, spiritual wisdom, and positive transformation.
A special flower-shower ceremony was conducted as a mark of devotion and heartfelt respect towards Pujyapad Shastriji Maharaj, Pujyapad Dharmajivandasji Swamiji, and Pujyapad Mahant Swamiji. The sacred ritual created a serene and devotional atmosphere across the Gurukul campus. Students and staff participated with sincerity and enthusiasm, expressing their gratitude for the spiritual guidance, values, and blessings received through the Guru tradition.
The event provided an opportunity for students and staff to reflect on the significance of Guru Poornima and the importance of maintaining a lifelong bond with one’s Guru. They understood that a Guru not only imparts knowledge but also inspires individuals to develop discipline, humility, devotion, good character, and a strong sense of responsibility. The teachings of the Guru help students make wise decisions and follow the path of truth and righteousness in their everyday lives.
The key message of the day was: **“Guru enlightens us from darkness to light. Respect and serve the Gurus.”** This powerful message inspired the students to express gratitude, follow the teachings of their Gurus, and practise the values they learn in their academic, personal, and spiritual journeys.
The Guru Poornima celebration at Gurukul Mysore had a profound impact on all the participants. It strengthened their understanding of spiritual values and reinforced the importance of Guru Bhakti, respect, service, and gratitude.
