On 25th August 2025, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Belagola, Near Mysore, joyfully celebrated the auspicious occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi with great devotion, enthusiasm, and cultural vibrancy. The celebration served as a reminder of the significance of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and harbinger of wisdom, while also fostering a sense of unity and tradition among students and staff.
The event featured a variety of engaging and creative activities by students of Grades I to VII, who actively participated in colouring Lord Ganesha’s images and carving clay idols of Lord Ganesha. These activities not only showcased the artistic talent of the young learners but also allowed them to understand the deeper symbolism of the festival. Through hands-on participation, students experienced the joy of creation while developing a sense of reverence for cultural traditions.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the performance on the Importance of Festivals and Our Culture, which deeply resonated with the audience. The message emphasized how festivals like Ganesha Chaturthi help preserve India’s rich cultural heritage while imparting values of faith, togetherness, and respect for traditions. The performance reflected the Gurukul’s vision of blending academics with values and cultural awareness.
The Ganesha Chaturthi celebrations at Gurukul Mysore not only fostered creativity among the students but also strengthened their bond with cultural roots. By engaging in meaningful activities, students learned the values of devotion, discipline, and respect for tradition—qualities that go hand in hand with holistic education.
The event beautifully combined faith, culture, and creativity, reflecting the Gurukul philosophy of providing education that nurtures both intellect and character. The day concluded with a strong message that while academics shape knowledge, cultural celebrations shape values, ensuring that students grow into well-rounded individuals who respect their heritage.
