On 12th August 2025, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Belagola Near Mysore marked a historic and spiritually uplifting occasion with the inauguration of Celebrating 200 Years of Shikshapatri Jayanti. This milestone event was part of a grand mission to achieve 2,00,000 paths of the Shikshapatri between August 2025 and January 2026, aligning with the sacred celebrations of Vasant Panchami on 11th February 1826 – 2026.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Pujya Tirthaswaroopdasji Swamiji and Pujya Harivandandasji Swamiji, who led the proceedings with divine inspiration. The program began with soulful Kirtan Bhakti, immersing the audience in devotional melodies that set a serene and uplifting atmosphere.
Central to the event was the emphasis on the importance of reading the Shikshapatri, a universal scripture authored by Supreme God Himself, providing timeless guidance on righteous living. Swamijis explained the spiritual, moral, and practical wisdom embedded in its 212 shlokas, and encouraged everyone to adopt the “One Week, One Path” goal — reading 35 shlokas daily to complete one full path in a week.
Students and staff were deeply engaged, reflecting on the relevance of the Shikshapatri’s teachings in daily life. The key message of the day, “Why Read the Shikshapatri”, inspired participants to see the scripture not just as a religious text but as a practical guide to living a disciplined, virtuous, and harmonious life.
The event fostered a profound sense of spiritual awareness, connecting the Gurukul family more deeply to its values and heritage. It also reinforced Gurukul Mysore’s commitment to holistic education — nurturing not only intellectual growth but also moral and spiritual development. The celebration was a beautiful blend of devotion, learning, and collective commitment to the 200,000 path mission, making it a memorable day in the school’s spiritual journey.
