Rakhi Making Activity Celebrates Creativity and Cultural Values

Published On: August 7, 2025

On 7th August 2025, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Belagola, Near Mysore hosted a heartwarming Rakhi Making Activity for Grades 1 to 3, celebrating the spirit of Raksha Bandhan while nurturing creativity and cultural awareness among its young learners. The event brought together students, teachers, and the school community in an atmosphere filled with joy, tradition, and artistic expression.

The classrooms came alive with vibrant colors as children used threads, beads, sequins, mirrors, and other craft items to create beautifully unique rakhis. Guided by their respective class teachers, the students showcased their imaginative skills while understanding the deeper meaning of the festival — the sacred bond of love, care, and protection between siblings.

A special highlight of the event was the “Understood the Brotherhood” theme, where children learned that Raksha Bandhan is not only about siblings but also about fostering kindness, unity, and respect among all. Teachers shared inspiring words, emphasizing the importance of preserving India’s cultural heritage and values.

The activity served as more than just a craft session — it was a learning experience that encouraged patience, teamwork, and cultural pride. Every child’s creation was a reflection of their innocent emotions and enthusiasm, making the event both memorable and meaningful.

Through this initiative, Gurukul Mysore once again demonstrated its commitment to value-based education, ensuring that its students grow not only academically but also as compassionate, culturally rooted individuals.
