On 21st September 2024, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Belagola, Near Mysore, hosted the Sadvidya Mega Event with a focus on the conservation of natural resources. This event aimed to educate students on the significance of preserving resources for future generations, fostering a mindset of sustainability and environmental responsibility among the young minds of today.
The event began with an impactful video session that underscored the pressing need for natural resource conservation. This visual presentation introduced students to the concept of resource depletion, illustrating both its causes and long-term implications. Following the video session, students participated in a workshop on natural resource management in daily life, which offered practical advice on sustainable practices. Students learned simple yet effective ways to incorporate resource conservation into their everyday routines, such as reducing energy consumption, recycling materials, and minimizing waste.
One of the highlights of the event was the inter-house debate competition on the topic, “Why Do We Need to Conserve Resources?” where students from the four houses—Rugveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda, and Atharvaveda—presented their insights and arguments on the necessity of conservation. After a spirited exchange of views, the teams from Yajurveda and Atharvaveda emerged victorious for their persuasive arguments and depth of understanding.
The event was further enriched by inspiring addresses from distinguished guests, including Pujya Harivandandasji Swamiji, Pujya Krishnamurthy Swamiji, Principal Shriharsha Joshi, Brahmavidya CO Mr. Venkatram Reddy, and Brahmavidya Coordinator Mr. Suraj Kumar Singh. Each speaker shared valuable insights on energy conservation and sustainable practices, motivating students to be responsible stewards of the environment.
The Sadvidya Mega Event served as an enlightening and transformative experience, encouraging students to actively engage in conserving the Earth’s precious resources and committing to an eco-friendly future. The event was a resounding success, instilling a spirit of environmental responsibility and empowering students to make a positive impact on the world.
