On 13th June 2025, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Mysore, marked World Blood Donors Day by organizing a commendable social welfare event. The initiative, in collaboration with Jeevadhara Blood Bank, saw active participation from students and staff, with 32 volunteers donating blood to support individuals in need. The event highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives and promoting a sense of civic duty.
The occasion was graced by esteemed guests: Dr. Gajanana Hegde, Retired Principal of Ayurveda Medical College; Mr. Girish, President of Jeevadhara Blood Bank; and Mr. Jay Shankar, Manager of Kamakshi Hospital Blood Bank. Their guidance and encouragement added depth to the purpose of the event.
Principal Shriharsha Joshi Assistant Director Bharath Sir, Jay Sir, and Academic Coordinator Satish N led the proceedings along with staff and student volunteers from Grades VI to IX. The well-coordinated effort ensured both safety and efficiency during the donation process.
This initiative exemplified Gurukul’s commitment to societal welfare and instilled the value of service among its students. It was a successful and inspiring day that reflected the school’s motto of nurturing responsible citizens with strong cultural and moral foundations.
