On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a special Rakhi Making Activity was conducted on 7th August 2025 for the students of Grades 1 to 4 at Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Belagola, Near Mysore. The event was titled ‘Young Hearts Crafting Bonds of Protection,’ emphasizing the values of love, care, and responsibility that Raksha Bandhan signifies.
The vibrant classrooms were filled with creativity and joy as our junior Gurukulites enthusiastically took part in designing beautiful handmade rakhis. With the guidance and encouragement of their mother teachers, students used colorful threads, beads, sequins, mirrors, and other decorative materials to craft unique rakhis. The activity provided a platform for the little ones to express their love for their siblings while also honing their fine motor skills and artistic abilities.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the children showcased their imagination and originality. Each rakhi reflected a child’s innocent emotions and understanding of the sacred bond that Raksha Bandhan represents. Teachers appreciated every child’s effort and motivated them to understand the deeper meaning behind the festival – the commitment to protect, respect, and care for one another.
The event successfully blended tradition with creativity, making it both enjoyable and meaningful. It served as a reminder that even the smallest hands can weave powerful messages of love and harmony. The school remains committed to nurturing such value-based learning experiences for its young minds.
