Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul in Nagpur celebrated the much-anticipated Shakotsav festival with unparalleled spiritual fervor, drawing together devotees, students, and alumni for an unforgettable experience of devotion and community spirit.
The highlight of the event was a deeply enlightening narration by Swamiji, who shared the rich history and significance of Shakotsav, a traditional festival celebrated predominantly in Gujarat. Swamiji emphasized its cultural and spiritual importance, particularly in strengthening the bond of devotion among the community.
The air was filled with devotion as students and devotees came together to sing dhun and keertan, creating an atmosphere of peace and unity. Swamiji himself took part in the celebration by preparing the prasadam (sacred food) and offering it to the deities with immense reverence. Following the offering, Swamiji personally distributed the prasadam to all devotees and students, spreading blessings and love.
A special feature of this year’s Shakotsav was the participation of alumni from the past 10 years, who returned to join in the celebration, reconnecting with their spiritual roots and contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
