Janmashtami Celebration 2026 – Mumbai

“Nand Gher Anand Bhayo, Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki!”

With immense devotion, joy, and spiritual enthusiasm, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul, Mumbai celebrated the auspicious festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami on 04 September 2026. The entire Gurukul campus was filled with the divine spirit of Bhagwan Shri Krishna, creating an atmosphere of devotion, happiness, and celebration.

The celebration beautifully brought together spirituality, culture, creativity, and the joyful spirit of childhood. Our students presented a vibrant cultural programme featuring melodious performances, energetic dances, and meaningful dramas depicting various aspects of Shri Krishna’s divine life and leelas. Through their performances, the students beautifully conveyed messages of devotion, righteousness, friendship, love, and dedication.

One of the most special attractions of the celebration was the beautifully decorated Hindola (swing) prepared by the students for Bhagwan Shri Krishna. With great love and devotion, the students decorated the Hindola and offered it to Bhagwan, expressing their heartfelt bhakti and affection for Bal Krishna. The sight of the beautifully adorned Hindola and the divine murti of Shri Krishna created a deeply devotional atmosphere across the campus.

The celebration became even more joyful with the students’ Raas performance, where they enthusiastically expressed their devotion through traditional dance and music. The vibrant costumes, graceful movements, devotional music, and cheerful participation of the students made the Raas a memorable highlight of the programme.

Adding a spirit of excitement and togetherness to the celebration, Dahi Handi and Matki Phod brought immense enthusiasm among the students and teachers. Everyone participated with great joy and celebrated the playful childhood spirit of Shri Krishna, fondly remembered as Makhan Chor. The celebration reflected the traditional spirit of unity, teamwork, enthusiasm, and devotion associated with Dahi Handi.

The entire campus came alive with devotional music, colourful decorations, cultural performances, joyful celebrations, and the divine remembrance of Shri Krishna. Teachers, students, and members of the Gurukul family participated wholeheartedly and enjoyed every moment of this auspicious occasion.

The Janmashtami celebration was not merely a cultural programme; it was a beautiful opportunity for students to experience Indian culture, express devotion, develop teamwork and creativity, and learn the timeless values inspired by the life and teachings of Bhagwan Shri Krishna.

The celebration concluded with hearts filled with devotion, smiles filled with joy, and the divine name of Shri Krishna resonating throughout the Gurukul campus.

“May the divine grace of Bhagwan Shri Krishna inspire every student to walk on the path of Dharma, devotion, courage, wisdom, and righteousness.”

Jai Shri Krishna! 🙏🦚💙
