South India Tour: Day 2 Highlights
Morning Departure from Bangalore to Ooty
After a restful night at Bangalore Gurukul, our journey continued towards the serene hills of Ooty. The students were well-rested and excited for the next phase of our trip.
Arrival in Ooty
Upon arrival, the students were captivated by the scenic beauty of Ooty, capturing wonderful memories amidst the picturesque landscape. 🌳🏞️

Ooty, situated at an elevation of 2,240 meters (7,350 feet) above sea level, has a lower atmospheric pressure compared to sea level.
• Air pressure in Ooty: ~780 hPa
• Standard air pressure at sea level: 1013 hPa
✈️ For comparison, airplane cabins maintain a pressure equivalent to 6,000–8,000 feet altitude, which is about 750–800 hPa.
Fun Fact: The natural environment in Ooty makes it far more comfortable than airplane cabins at high altitudes!
Breakfast in Ooty
Our day started with a delightful breakfast featuring:

Visit to Doddabetta Peak
We visited the Doddabetta Peak Viewpoint, standing at an elevation of 2,637 meters (8,650 feet) above sea level. The panoramic views of the Nilgiri Hills and Ooty’s lush greenery were breathtaking. The cool breeze and serene environment made it an ideal spot for relaxation and nature appreciation. 🌄 Students enjoyed taking photos and soaking in the views.
Tea & Chocolate Factory Visit
Next, we explored the Tea and Chocolate Factory. The students were fascinated by the process of making tea and chocolate. The aroma of fresh tea and chocolate filled the air, and the students enjoyed tasting and purchasing some delicious treats. 🍫 This visit was a fun and educational experience.
Boating Experience
Our day continued with a delightful boating experience. The calm waters and beautiful surroundings made for a relaxing and enjoyable ride. The students loved the peaceful atmosphere and had a lot of fun together. 🚤🌊
Dinner and Relaxation
After a wonderful day, the students retired to Moon Palace Hotel and White Palace Hotel for a delicious dinner and a restful evening. They relaxed, reflecting on the day’s adventures and looking forward to the journey ahead.
