Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Secunderabad has celebrated the National Unity Day in a meaningful way.
School has conducted the Swachh Bharat campaign at the Cheeryal village of Keesara Mandal.
On the morning hours of 31st October, tens of students of high school, teachers and school management reached the Cheeryal Gram panchayat.
All the students holding the placards have started the rally from Gram Panchayath.
Along the way, students have uttered the Swachh Bharat slogans. Few students and school sanitary staff have swept the streets of the village.
Villagers and onlookers were pleasantly surprised with this noble act of young students. Nevertheless, to say this has left good impression about Gurukulites.
The procession reached the Government Primary school, where we were received by the headmaster of school and Vice Sarpanch.
All our students have plunged into action by cleaning the school premises. They went all around school premises and left no wrapper unpicked!
In the span of 30 mts all the litter vanished. The collected dustbins were kept aside.
Govt. School has arranged a meeting to acknowledge and appreciate the act of Gurulkulites. ViceSarpanch of Cheeryal Shree Tirumal Reddy has welcomed swamijis to the meeting along with school management. Ward members of the village also joined the meeting.
Poojya Harivandandas Swamiji has greeted Government school children and explained about the importance of cleanliness. Further swamiji has briefed how we should do pranams to parents and God by calling out shloka ‘ Matru devo bhava, Pitru Devo bhava….’

Further Vice Sarpanch, Shree Tirumal Reddy has spoken to the students about Swachh Bharath, He has urged all the students to keep their surroundings neat.
All the dignitaries have taken the blessings of Poojya Sukhvallabdas Swamiji. Swamiji had a warm conversation and distributed Bhagwan Swaminarayan prasad.
Further as a mark of social service Gurukul school has donated two big dustbins to the Government school.
This kind of unselfish service has left unlasting impression about Swaminarayan Gurukul school.
All the students, teachers and management have returned to school with fond memories and relationships learned beyond books.
In this way, Gurukul students have lived the true spirit of National Unity Day, which is commemorated on Sardar Patel’s Birthday.
