The auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti was celebrated on 11 January 2025, Saturday with great enthusiasm and traditional fervor at Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School.
Event Highlights:
1. Puja Ceremony:
The celebration commenced with a divine Puja led by our esteemed Principal Dr. B. Nagaraja Naik, accompanied by respected faculty members Mr. Udit Narayan Chaturvedi, Mr. Vikas Gupta, Ms. Sanjulata Nayak, Ms. Reeta Panda, Mr. Dev Balaram Muni, and Ms. Divyanshi Singh. Their presence added sanctity to the event, invoking blessings for the entire Gurukul family.
2. Significance of Makar Sankranti:
A thoughtful and inspiring speech was delivered by Ms. Divyanshi Singh, highlighting the cultural and spiritual significance of the festival. She emphasized its importance in fostering unity and gratitude and connecting with nature.
3. Musical Performances:
The students of Class 9 performed a melodious music piece, which uplifted the festive spirit.
A soulful Bhajan presented by the Music Teacher created a deeply spiritual and serene ambiance.
4. Competitions and Activities:
Rangoli Making Competition: Classes 6 to 9 participated in a vibrant Rangoli Making Competition, showcasing their creativity and artistic flair. The colorful patterns brought the festive spirit to life.
Sesame Ball Making Activity: Students of Classes 4 and 5 engaged in making traditional Sesame Balls during the 4th and 5th periods, learning about the cultural delicacies associated with Makar Sankranti.
Kite Flying: The highlight of the celebration was Kite Flying during the 7th and 8th periods. The school ground came alive with vibrant kites soaring high, creating a magical atmosphere, likened to a sky full of butterflies. The background music added charm to the joyful activity.
5. Sweet Distribution:
The event concluded with the distribution of traditional sweets, which added to the festive cheer and left everyone with smiles on their faces.
