The Annual Sports Day GO 2024 at Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School was a grand event that celebrated sportsmanship, teamwork, and talent. The event was held with enthusiasm and energy, marking another milestone in the school’s legacy.

Arrival of Dignitaries

The event commenced at 9:30 am. with the arrival of esteemed chief guests:

The guests were welcomed warmly by Principal Dr. B. Nagaraja Naik and Mr. Vikas Gupta.

Inauguration Ceremony

The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guests, symbolizing the spirit of enlightenment and positivity.

The March Past, a highlight of the opening ceremony, showcased the discipline and unity of the students. It was led by:

Sports Vice Captains: Shivam Roy and Devashish Sharma

The four houses proudly marched under their respective flags:

Rigveda House: Led by Captain Ashutosh Sao

Atharvaveda House: Headed by Captain Renu Patel and Vice-Captain Oham Jaiswal

Samaveda House: Led by Captain Ved Prakash and Vice-Captain Devashish Sharma

Yajurveda House: Guided by Captain Sneha Panda and Vice-Captain Amitesh Patel

Cultural Performances

Vibrant cultural performances added colour and joy to the event:

Hoola Hoop Dance by Class 2 students under the guidance of Ms. Krishna Shivhare.

Lezim Dance by Class 6 students choreographed by Mr. Babaji Pradhan.

Feet on Fire Dance by Classes 7 and 8, directed by Ms. Pranjal Rajputani.

Sports Day Marshal and Oath-Taking

The Sports Day Marshal was led by Devashish Sharma, B. Sejal Naik, Tanmay Pradhan, and Anitya Maurya. The Oath-Taking Ceremony, emphasizing sportsmanship and fair play, was conducted by Shivam Roy.

The students were motivated by the inspiring words of Mr. Ravi Shankar and Mr. Ashutosh Satpathy, who emphasized the importance of sports in fostering discipline, teamwork, and holistic development.

The day concluded with the thrilling House-wise relay race, where all houses competed fiercely. Rigveda House emerged victorious, winning the Overall Trophy for the day.
