A Run For Fitness And Inspiration 🏃‍♀️- Marathon 2025 🏃‍♂️

On 14th September 2025, Sunday, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School proudly organized a Marathon on the occasion of National Sports Day, to commemorate the great hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand and the world’s oldest marathon runner, the “Turbine Tornado” Fauja Singh. The event turned into a vibrant festival of health and unity with the active participation of parents, students, teachers, and well-wishers.

The program was graced by eminent dignitaries – Shri Anil Kumar, Executive Director, NTPC Lara (Chief Guest), Shri K. C. Sinha Roy, GM O&M, Mrs. Rupa Sinha Roy, Shri Ravi Shankar, GM Project, Mrs. Archana Shankar and Mr. Sunil Jha, AGM GS SMC. Our respected Principal, Dr. B. Nagaraja Naik extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guests.

The highlight of the event was the flag-off ceremony by Shri Anil Kumar Sir, who also motivated the gathering with his inspiring words on the importance of sports and fitness in today’s fast-paced life. The marathon route echoed with cheers as enthusiastic runners – from young Gurukulites to energetic parents – showcased determination, stamina, and team spirit.

The celebration concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where male and female winners, as well as class-wise winners, were awarded medals and certificates by the distinguished guests. Their smiles reflected the true essence of sportsmanship.

The event’s grand success was made possible by the collective efforts of the teaching and non-teaching staff, who worked tirelessly to ensure smooth organization. More than just a race, this marathon reminded everyone that in today’s busy world, it is essential to pause, refresh, and focus on fitness for a healthier tomorrow.
