On April 11th, students stepped away from their traditional textbooks for Bag-Free Day 2, a dedicated initiative focused on practical discovery and skill-building. The day was designed to move beyond the classroom walls, offering students a ‘fruitful hands-on experience’ aimed at developing essential motor skills, life skills, and vocational abilities.
Under the guidance of their teachers, students engaged in a variety of specialized workshops tailored to their age groups:

Junior Artisans (Classes 1–3)
The younger students focused on tactile activities and functional art, fostering both creativity and coordination:
Pottery: Students explored texture and form, learning the foundational art of shaping clay.
Shoe Polishing: A practical life skill activity that encourages independence and attention to detail.
Paper Craft: Students practiced precision by creating custom envelopes and paper carry bags, blending artistic flair with utility.

Vocational Skills & Sustainable Craft (Senior Batches)
The older students delved into more complex vocational tasks, emphasizing sustainability and resourcefulness:
Mushroom Production: An introduction to agricultural science, teaching students the basics of sustainable food cultivation.
Bamboo Craft: Utilizing natural materials to create intricate flower vases and baskets, honoring traditional craftsmanship.
Cloth Carry Bags: In an effort to promote eco-friendly habits, students learned to stitch and assemble durable carry bags from fabric.

The day concluded as a resounding success. By replacing pens and paper with clay, bamboo, and cloth, the students didn’t just learn ‘how’ things are made—they gained the confidence to make them themselves.
