Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School observed International Yoga Day with an inspiring and holistic session dedicated to physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The event brought together both students and teaching staff for a rejuvenating morning of mindfulness and movement, fostering a strong sense of unity and health awareness across the entire campus.
The programme commenced with a serene school prayer, setting a calm and focused tone for the session. Following this, Mr. Pinku Charan Sahu delivered an insightful acknowledgement, highlighting the importance of yoga in our modern lives. Our Yoga Instructor, Ms. Muskan Soni, then captivated the participants as she guided the group through the rhythmic chanting of Om and the Gayatri Mantra, effectively centering everyone for the practice ahead.
Under the expert guidance of Ms. Muskan Soni, the active portion of the event began with comprehensive full-body stretching, which transitioned smoothly into the energizing practice of Suryanamaskar. Participants were then led through a sequence of 10 foundational asanas, performed with a focus on proper technique and alignment. The physical practice concluded with specialized pranayama exercises, specifically Kapalbhati, Anulom Vilom, and Bhramari, which helped promote deep relaxation and mental clarity.
The celebration officially concluded with the peaceful recitation of the Shanti Mantra, leaving all participants feeling refreshed and balanced. It was a remarkable success, with everyone—regardless of age—fully engaging in the session. The event served as a powerful reminder of the benefits of yoga, and all attendees were encouraged by Ms. Muskan Soni to incorporate these practices into their everyday routines for long-term health and emotional resilience.
