Finding Gokul Within: A Soul-Stirring Janmashtami Celebration At SSGIS

The celebrations of Janmashtami at SSGIS on 3rd September transformed the school into a vibrant replica of Gokul, filled with devotion and festive zeal across all sections. The traditional proceedings commenced on a pious note with a ceremonial pooja and aarti, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere as students, teachers, and staff gathered to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna. Adding to the divine spirit, the KG section celebrated with great enthusiasm, where young learners actively participated in melodious Shloka and Mantra chanting, beautifully connecting with the cultural significance of the occasion.

The cultural segment expanded with a soulful bhajan session led brilliantly by classes 8 and 9 students, filling the air with devotional music, which flowed seamlessly into the little ones’ joyful Krishna-themed dance performances. This was followed by a captivating storytelling session by Miss Dishida Das from class 4, who narrated the divine life and legends of Lord Krishna with expressive gestures and engaging postures that held everyone’s attention.
The momentum continued with an energetic and visually stunning dance performance by class 6 students, while the KG section experienced the thrill of the traditional Matka Phod activity, bringing immense excitement and happiness to the little Krishna devotees.

The memorable celebration concluded on an inspiring note with an address by Principal Dr. B.Nagaraja Naik, who commended the students and teachers for their enthusiastic participation and coordination. The event successfully fostered a deep sense of cultural heritage, togetherness, and spiritual joy across the entire school community. It wrapped up leaving everyone, especially the young learners, with lasting memories of devotion, celebration, and festive cheer.
