Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School celebrated Janmashtami with devotion on 14-08-2025, colour, and cultural vibrancy, honouring the birth of Lord Krishna.
The day began with a prayer and aarti, setting a divine tone for the celebrations. Principal Dr. B. Nagaraja Naik, along with students dressed as Krishna and Radha and the teaching staff, reverently swung the ceremonial jhoola, symbolising the joy of Krishna’s arrival.
The cultural programme commenced with a graceful dance performance by Classes 5 and 6, followed by a captivating ‘Krishna Leela’ skit that beautifully portrayed episodes from Krishna’s life The skit, presented under the able guidance of Ms. Shresthashree Ratha won the hearts of the audience and conveyed the message of love, righteousness, and devotion.
To further enrich students’ understanding of Indian epics, Mr. Pradyumn Sharaf, teaching faculty, conducted wing-wise interactive sessions on the Mahabharata, igniting curiosity and imparting valuable life lessons.
The Kindergarten section celebrated the occasion with equal enthusiasm. After puja and prayer, the little ones joyfully participated in the traditional Dahi Handi, followed by a delightful dance performance that added charm to the event.
The celebration concluded with smiles, cultural enrichment, and a deeper connection to Lord Krishna’s teachings, leaving the Gurukul campus resonating with festive cheer and devotion.
