SGIS marked the birth anniversary of the legendary freedom fighter Lokmanya Balagangadhar Tilak with deep reverence and patriotic fervor on the 23rd of July. The commemorative event commenced with a solemn floral tribute, where our Respected Principal Sir, Dr. B. Nagaraja Naik, graciously garlanded the portrait of the great leader alongside enthusiastic students of Class 7. This respectful inauguration set a dignified tone for the gathering, instilling in the young minds a sense of profound admiration for those who dedicated their lives to India’s struggle for independence.
Following the floral tribute, an engaging and educational session was led by Mr. Amit Nayak, who shared the inspiring life story and remarkable contributions of Tilak. Through a well-crafted PowerPoint presentation, he vividly brought to life the visionary ideals of the nationalist leader, highlighting his famous proclamation ‘Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it’ and his pivotal role in shaping India’s freedom movement. The presentation provided students with a comprehensive understanding of Tilak’s legacy, making the celebration both a fitting tribute and a powerful learning experience.
