Stepping away from the traditional confines of the classroom, students from classes 5 and 8 embarked on an enriching field trip to a local paddy field, bridging the gap between textbook knowledge and the living world. Guided by the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. B. Nagaraj Naik,Manager Mr. Vikas Gupta alongside dedicated educators Mr. Dushyant Singh, Ms. Shresthashree Ratha, and Ms. Reeta Panda, the young learners immersed themselves in nature to explore essential vocational skills. This experiential journey brought science to life, transforming the open fields into an engaging, interactive classroom where learning transcended theory.
Amidst the lush greenery, the students received a comprehensive, step-by-step masterclass in paddy cultivation from local farmers and teachers. They observed the intricate processes of ploughing the earth, applying fertilizers correctly, preparing delicate saplings, and finally transplanting them into the mud. Under the encouraging supervision of their principal and teachers, the children rolled up their sleeves and waded into the fields to plant the saplings with their own hands. They also had the unique opportunity to examine traditional agricultural tools up close, learning how each implement plays a vital role in farming.
Beyond agricultural techniques, this profound encounter left an indelible mark on the students’ hearts and minds. Witnessing the hard labor required to bring a single grain of rice from the soil to the dining table instilled a deep appreciation for food, teaching them never to waste a single bite. More importantly, it cultivated a profound sense of empathy and respect for the dignity of labor. Returning with muddy boots and enlightened spirits, the students discovered a renewed connection with nature and a lifelong respect for the hardworking hands that sustain us.
