Igniting the Spark of Ingenuity: SSGIS at the Vanguard of OPJU’s Labs

On September 17, students from classes 8 and 9 of SSGIS embarked on an enriching educational excursion to OP Jindal University. Led by Principal Dr. B. Nagaraja Naik, alongside dedicated staff members Mr. Ashish Kar, Ms. Shresthashree Ratha, Ms. Reeta Panda, and Mr. Vikas Gupta, the young learners were greeted with a warm and mesmerizing welcome that set a positive tone for the day. This visit offered students a valuable opportunity to step outside the traditional classroom and immerse themselves in a dynamic higher-education environment, sparking curiosity and a passion for modern learning.

The academic journey began at the university’s digital central library, followed by an inspiring exploration of its cutting-edge innovation hubs. At the Idea Lab, students engaged directly with advanced machinery, experiencing firsthand how to create, innovate, and transform new technologies. They then proceeded to the Prototyping Centre to discover the fascinating worlds of 3D imaging and printing, before heading to the RPTO to dive deeper into the realms of drones and robotics. The technical tour concluded with a close-up look at various mechanical parts used in industrial power plants, giving students a comprehensive view of engineering in action.

Beyond the technical exhibits, the visit provided a fantastic platform for mentorship and student engagement. Students actively interacted with the university faculty, asking thoughtful questions and clarifying their doubts about emerging technologies and future career paths. Coupled with the university’s exceptional hospitality and a delightful group lunch, the excursion proved to be a thoroughly memorable and eye-opening experience that successfully broadened the horizons of the SSGIS students.
