The celebration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on 19th February was conducted with great elegance and patriotic fervor. The event commenced with a solemn tribute as the respected Principal, Dr. B. Nagaraja Naik, garlanded the portrait of the legendary warrior-king. Accompanied by students, this ceremonial gesture set a dignified tone for the day, fostering a sense of deep respect for the founder of the Maratha Empire and his vision of Swarajya.
The educational aspect of the day was highlighted by Madam Harmeet Kaur, who delivered an insightful address on Shivaji Maharaj’s historical movements and his unparalleled valour. She vividly described his strategic brilliance and the ethical foundations of his rule, ensuring that the students understood the significance of his leadership beyond just the battlefield. Her words served as an inspiring reminder of the courage and integrity required to build a just society.
The highlight of the program was a meticulously planned skit performed under the expert guidance of Mr. Babaji Pradhan and Mr. Pankaj Dixit. The performance offered a well-structured narrative that journeyed from Shivaji’s disciplined childhood under Rajmata Jijabai to his ultimate victory and coronation as Chhatrapati. By bringing history to life on stage, the students not only showcased their acting talents but also paid a fitting theatrical tribute to the enduring legacy of the “People’s King.”
