Post Office Visit
On 03/10/24, a visit to the post office was organized for the students of 9th and 6th grades. The purpose was to familiarize them with various postal services, including:
1. *Stamps*: The students learned about the different types of stamps used for domestic and international mailing, their denominations, and how stamps are a crucial part of postal history.
2. *Parcels & Speed Post*: The post office staff explained how parcels are handled, the importance of packaging, and how speed post provides a faster delivery option both within the country and internationally.
3. *Registered Mail*: Information was provided on how registered mail ensures safe delivery, requiring the recipient’s signature, and providing tracking services.
4. *Banking Services*: The students were introduced to the savings and deposit services offered by the post office, including savings accounts and various small savings schemes like RD and PPF.
5. *Insurance Stamping*: The role of insurance stamping in ensuring protection of parcels and valuable letters was discussed.
6. *Postal Service Timings*: Students were informed about the regular working hours of the post office and how they could access various services.
The visit gave students a practical insight into how postal services operate, beyond their textbook learning.
