The Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School ,NTPC LARA , campus reverberated with patriotic fervour as it celebrated the 79th Independence Day . The day commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Shri Ravi Shankar, GM Project, NTPC Lara, escorted by the welcome party led by Master Ved Prakash, Head Boy, and other student leaders.
The celebrations began with the garlanding of Bharat Mata and portraits of great freedom fighters by the Chief Guest and the Principal, Dr. B. Nagaraja Naik, paying heartfelt tribute to the heroes who fought for India’s freedom. The highlight of the morning was the flag hoisting by the Chief Guest and Principal, followed by a general salute and the singing of the National Anthem, filling the air with pride and unity.
A vibrant cultural programme showcased the students’ talent and patriotic spirit. Ayansh Das (Class 2) delivered an inspiring English speech, followed by a melodious patriotic song by Classes 4 and 5. The adorable UKG students stole hearts with their lively dance performance, and Himanshu Gupta (Class 9) impressed the gathering with his impactful Hindi speech. Class 8 students concluded the cultural segment with a high-energy patriotic dance.
The Chief Guest, in his address, praised the discipline and enthusiasm of the Gurukulites and urged them to be responsible citizens. The Principal, in his speech, highlighted the significance of freedom and the role of youth in nation-building.
The ceremony also witnessed the formal investiture of newly elected student leaders, symbolising the school’s commitment to nurturing leadership and responsibility.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Madam Krishna Shivhare, sweet distribution, and the echo of “Jai Hind” resonating across the campus — a perfect end to a day of pride, unity, and inspiration.
